Message from the Principal
Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. Wednesbury Oak Academy aims to develop the whole child. We consistently achieve higher than national standards of academic attainment in Numeracy & Literacy but we also strive to provide opportunities for our children to achieve well across the wider curriculum.
This has been designed to ensure that it is relevant to the world in which our children live. We place high emphasis on the development of our children as independent, creative learners and our wider curriculum provides them with rich and varied opportunities to explore and understand their immediate environment, the world environment and the impact that their behaviour can have upon environmental issues.
All of our children are involved in a range of green projects; such as supporting local churches, growing their own food and regular Forest School sessions etc. We also raise large sums for charity throughout the year.
Our school is set in extensive grounds and we are continually developing these with the children as we are a Forest School. We have a well-developed Nature Area and Forest Area which our children maintain and utilise within their studies and we are developing outdoor classrooms, an Early Years Forest Area and an outdoor curriculum.
We offer an extensive range of After School Clubs. These cover a variety of curriculum areas such as sport, music, art and environmental issues. Please refer to the After Schools Club page to view the full list of clubs we have on offer this term.
Our partnership with parents is exceptionally important to us and parents are invited into school very regularly throughout the year to attend parent workshops and to engage in a range of different activities with their children. We also hold regular fund-raising events and a number of free parent courses are provided on-demand throughout the year.
If you are considering choosing Wednesbury Oak Academy as your child’s school, please contact us anytime to arrange an informal visit. We look forward to meeting you and your child(ren).
